The Cathedral seen from the Bridle-track.The route was declared the first European Cultural Route by the Council of Europe in October 1987; it was also named one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites in 1993.
Walls:Saint James' gate at night.Even today, almost 1700 years after it was first built, Lugo’s Roman wall is still a defining and un-missable feature of the city. Constructed over a period of 45 years between 265 AD and 310 AD the wall is over 2km in circumference and completely encircles the old town.
