GERMANY ~ Northern Friesland - Wadden Sea National Park - UNESCO~

...A lovely map card showing an important part of "The Wadden Sea" the largest unbroken system of intertidal sand and mud flats in the world (Germany, Netherlands and Denmark)...Thanks a lot Gerald!!

Northern Friesland" or "North Frisia", is a district in Schleswig-Holstein.

The entire coastal region is part of the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park.

Northern Friesland includes the coastal section between Dithmarschen and Denmark. In the south is the Eiderstedt peninsula, where the River Eider meets the sea.The North Frisian Islands are also part of it  and located inside the national park as well.

There are five large islands (Sylt, Föhr, Amrum, Pellworm and Nordstrand) and ten smaller islets known as Halligen.
