TAJIKISTAN ~ Zeravshan Mountains-Ajkul Lake ~

...Great start of the week【ツ】...my second card from this unknown landlocked Central Asian Republic came as a surprise and shows more of its beautiful nature ...it is famous for its unique mountain landscapes and lakes...Matthew wrote that there are many apple and apricot orchards in the north and that most of them are dried and sent to Russia...Thanks a million Matthew!!\_(♥‿♥)_/

Tajikistan, the smallest country of  Central Asia, is located in its southeast part and nestled between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to the north and west, China to the east, and Afghanistan to the south. The capital is Dushanbe.

It is the country of mountains and rivers. In fact, 93% of the territory of Tajikistan is occupied by mountains.

The Zarafshan Range is a mountain range in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, part of the Pamir-Alay mountains. Almost all of the range belongs to the drainage basins of the Zarafshan River. Many peaks rise more than 16,500 feet (5,000 metres), the highest being Chimtorga, at 18,009 ft (5,489 metres).
