SPAIN ~ Estella-Lizarra - Navarra ~

... A lovely surprise showing "Estella la Bella" ... a romanitic city full of history, with impressive facades and gorgeous Romanesque and Gothic buildings... a lot of pilgrims take Estella-Lizarra as one of the most important stops of the Saint James Way (Route of Santiago de Compostela), especially, as a cultural one....the region of Navarra often gets overlooked as a tourist destination... Big Thanks once more Josep and Assumpta!!(✿ ♥‿♥)

Estella (Spanish) or Lizarra (Basque) is a town located in the autonomous community of Navarre, in northern Spain.

The town of Estella is founded by Sancho I Ramirez in the year 1090.

Estella- Lizarra became a landmark in the Way of St. James pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, thriving on the privileged location and the melting pot of Francos called in by Navarrese kings, Jews and the original Navarrese inhabitants.
