CANADA ~ Flowerpot Island - Tobermory - Fathom Five National Marine Park ~

... Great postcard nr2 shows how it actually looks for "real" in the Park... one of the country's most fascinating and impressive natural attractions...  this area is only accessible by boat... a great scuba diving spot because of the many shipwrecks... but you can also enjoy looking at them without having to dive if you ride glass bottom boats...

"Renowned for its picturesque rock pillars, Flowerpot Island is the only island in Fathom Five National Marine Park with facilities for the public, Flowerpot island has something if interest for everyone. For the naturalists, it's the flowers, the geology and the wildlife. Visiting caves and hiking the trails provides adventure for others."

Fathom Five Marine national park covers an area of 130 square kilometers of surface water surrounding 20 islands on the northern and eastern sectors of the Bruce Peninsula. The Parks was established in 1987 and was the first National Marine Park in the country.

Flowerpot Island is a 2 km² island  located in Tobermory  and  home to stunted white cedars, mixed-woodland and rare ferns and orchids.
